Pranic Healing Wins 1st Place at Academy of Integrative Health & Medicine Conference

Scientific poster on Reduction of Pain with Pranic Healing in Geriatric Emergency Department: A Randomized Study wins first place at the Academy of Integrative Health & Medicine (AIHM) Annual Conference.  The poster was presented by Glenn Mendoza, MD at the annual conference in San Diego, CA on November 2, 2016. The research study was performed by nurses and co-authors, Lauren Khalifeh, R.N., and Linda Flar Lund, R.N. at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Patterson, New Jersey. 

“This award honors Pranic Healing Research Institute’s (PHRI) progress to advance evidence-based research in Pranic Healing in a clinical setting," Dr. Mendoza said. “We look forward to working collaboratively with AIHM to make integrative patient-centered health a world-wide standard.”

This year PHRI joined AIHM’s Association Leadership Council to actively collaborate on a broad range of Integrative Medicine research and initiatives aimed to transform how we understand health, wellness and disease conditions.

Dr. Mendoza adds, “Energy is everything. Everything is energy. We are bringing new evidence- and practice-based research for health and wellness using Pranic Medicine.”

Pranic Healing Being Used to Alleviate Pain in ER Department at NJ Hospital

In 2015, Lauren Khalifeh, RN, BSN and Linda Flar Lund, RN, BSN presented research on the effects of Pranic Healing in the Emergency Department at the 1st Pranic Healing Research & Development Conference in Bogota, Colombia.  In their randomized control study, 48 patients of the Geriatric population entered into the Emergency Department with acute and/or chronic pain. A control group received pain medication and an experimental group received pain medication and Pranic Healing session. Results concluded that Pranic Healing was significantly effective in reducing symptoms of pain in the geriatric ED. Pranic Healing Instructors Lauren Khalifeh and Linda Flar Lund are at the epicenter of innovation and research using Pranic Healing to manage patient’s pain, stress and anxiety in the Emergency Department. Their efforts have received both national and international attention in recent years.

Lauren Khalifeh, RN, BSN, HNB-BC, Coordinator of Holistic Nursing at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Paterson, NJ was highlighted in an NBC Nightly News story aired on their new program to avoid painkiller addictions but not at the cost of patient suffering. Meditation on Twin Hearts wins 1st place at AIHM Annual Conference in San Diego, CA

Scientific poster on Meditation on Twin Hearts wins first place at the Academy of Integrative Health & Medicine (AIHM) Annual Conference!  The poster was presented by Nichole Perez, MD at the annual conference in San Diego, CA in October 2015.

As part of the first place award, the poster has been selected for publication in the peer-reviewed, indexed medical journal, Integrative Medicine: A Clinician’s Journal. Publication will be released in 2016. 

Dr. Perez adds, “This has opened doors to many practitioners wanting to learn about Pranic Healing.”
